Sam: Climate camp - Day 1&2
Hey, I’m Sam, I’ll be one of the bloggers covering the climate camp for the coal hole. At the moment I’m stuck behind a desk, (trying to finish a workshop on renewable energy I’ll be running at the camp next week,) but in a minute I’m going to the pub, and then on Sunday I’m heading across to Kent to attend the climate camp.
(If you need to know how to get there check here.)
Here’s what’s been going on so far… Loads of stuff has been happening already. It’s going to be a mad week…
- Compost loos are being built - from Kent Online.
- An MEP is going to the camp - “If that means politicians joining with other climate change campaigners to sit down in front of bulldozers, then so be it.” Pretty good…
- Protesters from the Drax coal train action will breach bail to attend the camp - risking jail for what they believe in.
- Climate scientist from Royal Society says e.on are ‘deluded’ - I suppose he’d know.
I’m getting pretty excited. I went to the camp last year and was really inspired by what I experienced. I’m hoping it’s going to be as good this year - I’m sure it will be. See you there?
