Curious that the contractors got the whole day off, while the rest of the workforce only got a late start. If you folks were ultimately able to get into the plant and keep working, why not the contractors? Could it be that there was some P.R. capital to be made by sending home specifically those workers fitting "environmentally friendly" technology to the station (even if that technology actually boosts the plant's CO2 output)? Or is that overly cynical of me ... ?

Let's be clear: our beef is not with Aberthaw's employees - it's with the effects of the plant on the global climate. The sooner we can scale up investment in renewable energy in Wales, the better - for local people, for the world, and for energy workers, who will have the satisfaction of knowing their work is contributing to safeguarding our future, not simply to lining the pockets of a ruthless and amoral employer.

Hey Aberthaw Employee - Sorry if you had to work on your day off, but that's probably something to take up with your union, not us. While you're at it, how about demanding improved Health and Safety on site - the conditions you have to work in are appallingly dangerous and toxic - inhaling coal-dust all day, crumbling structures, coal caked stairways and Emergency STOP buttons which don't work on the coal-conveyors.

With regards to the "mess" left by protestors, we would have cleared up our stuff if we had not been otherwise detained, and the real point is this: the mess which CO2 emissions from places like Aberthaw are making for my grandkids is far worse. Green Jobs for Wales!
